Ecoboost paint cracking

I just picked up an 2013 expboost yesterday and after looking at the engine I noticed the paint/metal has fractures in it. Is this normal??? My 5.4 didn't look like that.

That's just the raw aluminum. It's just really rough from the sand molds when it was cast. Nothing to worry about

Yeah my wifes 3.5L Malibu is the same. My old saturn is as well. Normal casting for aluminum blocks these days.
