Ecoboost Longevity?
Not exactly..... Although they do go pretty good. What they need is hard work. Hook it up to something heavy and drag it around for a while.
I just traded my 2011 eco for a 2014 5.0. The eco had 97,000 miles on it and when I stepped on the gas it studdered really bad and sometimes I had to pull over on the side of the road, get it to normal idle, and then take off again. The Ford techs couldn't tell me what it is, even after driving it themselves. They told me that they could possibly diagnose the problem, but it might take a couple of days. I was due for a new truck anyway, so I just traded it. I tow a medium car trailer with total weight about 5,000 lbs. The eco would get the weight moving faster, but the 5.0 got about 2 mpg better when towing. I was shocked by the mileage I was getting with the 5.0. So, if you're towing around town the eco appears to be better in stop and go traffic, but on the interstate, the 5.0 actually saves in gas. But, that's just my experience and I'm sure everyone has different experiences with the eco and 5.0. This is my 9th F150 since 1979, so I've been around the block a time or 2.
I know this has nothing to do with ecoboost longevity, but since a few are talking about 5.0L in here I got a really funny joke I have to share! Some might get it.

well this is ironic.
Plus its real fun to watch young IT guys in 3 series coupes snap their necks as a 6,000lb truck dusts them.
