Default 2010 Platinum A/C issues...

I just bought an immaculate 2010 F150 Platinum off a buddy with only 50k miles on it. It has the touch screen nav/radio/ac control unit in the dash. When the A/C is on recirculate, the fan only blows at 1 speed, which seems to be just under full blast, which is annoyingly loud. The only way I can lower the fan speed is to have it on outside air. Also, when it is on recirculate, the temperature settings don't seem to work either. It blows cold, but never adjust itself when the desired cabin temp is reached. It just keeps getting colder. I know there is a MAX AC setting and a normal. But this happens when it is on normal recirculate. The MAX AC setting blows even harder, but when you turn off max ac, it drops down somewhat, but gives me no control over the fan speed or temp. Those controls only work when the system is on outside air.

Is this normal? He has never done a system software update. Is there a patch that fixes this? Seems odd to me that the auto temp controls only work on outside air. My wife's Sequoia does self adjust the fan and out put to meet the desired temp. Once the vehicle is cooled down, the fan drops off to a lower speed just to maintain the temp.

WAD (Working As Designed). It will operate at "full blast" until the interior temp' that you've set it at is reached. *True for recirulate -AND- MAX AC (which blows more since it isn't drawing-in outside air - only cabin air).

FYI - The settings operation is explained in the owner's manual.

(owner's manual) Don't have one -OR- would like a digital, searchable desktop document?

As I stated in my original post. When on recirculate the auto temperature does not adjust. It just keeps getting colder and colder until it is unbearable. And I do not mean it is on Max cold either. Regular auto recirculate. Then I switch it over to outside air, and the auto controls take over. The fan speed will drop and there is a notable rise in the temperature. I have driven this thing for hours at a time and the auto features never operate while the AC is on recirculate. If it is in auto function, while in outside air mode, and I punch the recirculate button because of a bad smell, it immediately jumps up to almost full speed fan and the temperature begins to go down.
