Default EB with 36 Gallon Tank

The most recent order guide I have seen Under Optional Equipment Powertrain 3.5L V6 EchoBoost states (Includes 26 Gallon fuel Tank).

Under the 36 Gallon Fuel Tank Package (61T) it states not available with 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (99T)

I guess Im going to ask the dealer to build me one in the ford online configuator and see if it will allow the 36 Gallon tank with the 3.5L.

I will followup and let you know... Thanks.

Default 36 gal tank

I also have ordered a 2011 ecoboost lariat 4x4, 6.5 bed, offroad pk, loaded. When I ordered I did not try to get the larger tank due to information out that it was not avalible with the eb. After reading this thread I returned to my dealer today to ask about getting the 36 gal. They looked it up in the standard equipment list for f150 with 4x4 and it indicated that the unit I ordered will come with the tank. I hope this is so. I will be pissed if it has the small tank.

Does anyone have a link to a site that gives all standard equipment that comes with these trucks?

I ordered a King Ranch with the Ecoboost and wanted the bigger tank. They told me it was not available for the King Ranch and you could only get the 36 gallon tank on fleet vehicles.

Unhappy NO 36 Gal Tank with EB Engine

Well my dealer informed me no way to get the 36 gal tank with EB.

That is a deal breaker for me... and I was so looking forward to a new truck! I'll just wait until the 2012's and see if they change their mind.

Anyone know why Ford would do this? We know the tank is available, and it fits in the frame, why not allow it as an option with the EB engine.

I'd like the 36 gallon tank to be an option for all F-150s that fit it. I think it isn't an option for psychological reasons -- people get grumpy at the cost of filling up a larger cost, not realizing that it is more economical overall (fewer pitstops.)

It could be as simple as the added weight of the bigger tank and another 10 gallons of fuel lessened the estimated MPG and Ford wants to claim the BEST fuel economy in any pickup......even a 1/2 MPG can make a difference when trying to be the BEST.
I too think that it is absolutely silly NOT to offer that 36 gallon tank. Its sure nice to see "600 miles to empty" when filling up on a road trip!!!!
If they offered the bigger tank on the EB, you might even see "700 miles to empty!!!!!!!!!!" Think of THAT!
