My parents own a 2013 platinum with the powered running boards. They don't always deploy in the Canadian winters so a couple years ago they asked me to remove them and replace with stationary boards. I ordered a generic set off Amazon and while they look nice, they are not really positioned properly. They are too high/close to the cab, making it difficult to step into the cab and awkward stepping out.
I'm just wondering if anyone had any suggestions, I know from time to time factory boards show up on kijiji, would these be the best?

Thanks for your time!
^^ Yes, that would be the best idea. FB Marketplace is also good for people selling used things as well - more people seem to be using it. Not me though, no FB for me...
My favorites are still what I scored when my truck was nearly new, i.e., OEM Raptor side boards replacements for the FX4 standard equipment. These are cast aluminum, coated with durable bedliner material and provide a wider foot placement plus excellent traction surface in any weather. Ah, but used takeoffs are tough to find now.
Edited to add: If shopping for used on CL, etc, a quick visual to determine fitment difference on 2009-2014 is the center pattern of drainage louvers. S-Cab (like mine) have a pattern of 7 on center whereas longer cab S-Crew have 9 louvers.

^ looks nice. I definitely am looking for those too. The Factory FX4 ones looks good but are Very Slippery wet and in winter months
