Default Drove an ecoboost for the first time

I'm coming from a 2011 5.0 XLT and got the chance to drive my bosses 2012 FX4 Eco. It was so weird ! It's silent in the cab, and I found myself just ripping around Town with the radio off just so I could hear the turbos and BOV. I always said I wouldn't like this motor because you can't hear it and it doesn't have that V8 grunt. But I sort of changed my mind. I could get used to this. I bought my truck from him when he got this and now he's selling this one. If it wasn't destroyed (older man running a roofing company) with dents and scratches, I would maybe consider buying it. I still don't know if I trust it after all the stories about this motor. But it's hit or miss. And it was a nice step up from my XLT having all the nice amenities .

I should just tell my pops to buy this so well have two white f150s in the driveway.

To each their own. I went from an Eco to 5.0 and couldn't miss the Eco any less than I do.

Yea I love my 5.0, and the Eco is neat, but I've always loved the V8s. But what I really want now is an FX4.

Currently we have an eco and a 5.0l. They are just 2 totally different driving experiences. The minute I think the eco is the way to go, I get in the 5.0L with the solo exhaust and just love that sound. The guys on the eco forum said I should record the V8 sound and play it in the ecoboost.

What's the stick price on an OEM turbo replacement? Does ford offer rebuilds?

I have an FX4 and love the awesome interior. It's my happy place. The heated/cooled leather, touchscreen and red/white instrument cluster are my favourite features.

I have an ECO but drove a 5.0 rental around for a few days. The sound is killer! Felt like I was running around in a NASCAR. I never liked the sound of the ECO, but love the power.
