Since when do you have the transmission in drive, and the e brake on? Daytime running lights only come on when shifting out of park. Ask my XTR F150 how I know lol.

I used to do it all the time to turn the DTRL off in my old F150 and F350, Just a couple clicks on the E-brake pedal, No brake is applied but just enough to activate the sensor....

So I have a Canadian model F150 2013 Fx4, the amber parking lights in the front are on as the DRL's, if I have the Ford dealership disable them, would they still come on when the light swtch is set to Auto?

My goal here is I like the DRL's but there are occasions where you don't want any lights on at all, while driving (hunting).

Is it possible to have them when the lights are on Auto, but if I turn the light **** to off, everything will be off?

EDIT: I live in the US, but my F150 came from Canada.

They should be able to just turn of the drl, so it will be just like normal, off is off and automatic is automatic. Let us know if your dealership will do it, as some may not want to turn off a safety feature.

I thought the sensor was on the roof on my 09. What is that black bump up there on the passenger side?

No. Disabled means just that.

O.k. so I set a ball cap on the daylight reader on my dash. Yup. Lights stay on. Nice tip, and the price was right.

a small piece of electrical tape works as well and doesn't slide across the dash.
