Default drivetrain slop

Does anyone else have a lot of slop in their drive-train. I checked the universal joints on the drive shaft and they are good. It seems like it may be in the transfer case or the diff. My last truck was not like this.
you can feel slop being taken up when you shift into gear. When I have a lot of stop and go, you can really feel the slop. When offroading and the wheels start to slip the truck will shutter and bounce from the the the drivetrain tightening and then loosening (backlash?)

I've just never experienced this on my trucks so I was wondering if this is a common problem and where it is typically coming from. I can also roll the truck back and forth more than I'm use to in park. I do suspect the slop is in the diff though.

Have you tried greasing the slip yoke? Its easy. Start with the easy stuff and keep eliminating items.

It doesn't feel or sound like a clunk or binding that breaks free under pressure. It feels like actual loose slop as if gear teeth had gaping spaces in between them allowing room to move before engaging

It wouldn't hurt to grease the slip yoke anyways though as mine may have not been done yet.
