This degraded until today, where only ONE speaker (passenger front) works. Currently I can get zero sound in any speaker other than that one. Doubting it was my speakers (how can all go bad at once?) I pulled the driver's side and inspected it. Clean, dry, no issues. This absolutely HAS to be the wiring harness. Regardless of OEM or aftermarket, speakers don't all go bad at once. I made an appointment with the dealer so they can replace it (bought extended warranty so it's covered). I will mention the TSB, but does anyone have the number of that?
I have had the issue with my drivers side door speaker several times. I have replaced the harness twice! Yesterday I ordered a 3rd harness. I had the truck at the dealer last week, they checked the TSB and did their check and they said it was the speaker. I replaced the speaker with a Pioneer 4-way speaker that I have. Still not working so I ordered the harness again. I plan to get some component speakers and do a 5 channel amp then run all new wiring if this doesn't fix it. I think this is the TSB you are looking for!

Exclamation

that TSB said "vehicles built before 12/1/2011".

I have a '14 and it sounds like the speaker is blown and sometimes doesn't even work.

If this happened on a '12....ford still hasn't figured out a fix?

some say speaker. some say wiring harness . . .

I'm not gonna be back and forth at the dealer over this, i'll just listen to audio on my phone.

I want to make sure you can rock out in your rig, gregsf150stx. How many miles are on it currently? Have you ever brought this to the attention of your dealer? I'll research options.

I was having intermittent problems with the driver's door speaker, but had planned on replacing all 4 speakers any way. Now that I've replaced them the driver side went out a couple of weeks ago and now the passenger side went out too.

Guess I'll have to make an appointment with the dealer about the wiring harness replacement. I do have an extended warranty on mine, but I'll see how much it runs me.

On 2013-2014 (maybe more years) I really think the vast majority of the issues are moisture related. I've pulled my front left door speaker 3 times over the last 12 months to clean off corrosion/rust on the speaker terminals and restore connection quality. I get a few months and then the speaker starts cutting out and back to the routine. I had Ford dealer look at it today and they said nothing can be done. "The inside of the doors are designed to take on water, just keep the drain plugs clear" (which mine are).

I ran mine through the car wash today after my appt Took my door trim panel off about 30 minutes later and man everything was wet as heck in there. No wonder all the corrosion on the speaker.

I bought 'QD Electronic Cleaner' at Advanced Auto Parts and that really helped. I'm actually surprised how well it cleaned up the speaker terminals. It restored the connection to my front Infinity speaker which had been cutting out for a few days. It's the best the speaker terminals have looked since I bought them last year. We got a good rain storm while my truck was outside at a baseball game, so I'm assuming that was the cause of the latest issue.

I've heard people say that we should use Dielectric grease, but I've also read that is one of the worst thing you can do to speaker terminals since it's not conductive and tough to clean.

Who knows. If someone has an answer, I'm all ears.... I love this truck, but I am getting tired of wet speakers and my sound cutting out after rain/car washes. However, I am really getting efficient at taking off and putting back on the door trim panel!

I had my front right speaker changed on my 2013 F150 Supercrew on 06/29/14 and so far things sound good. I plan on getting some better speakers here in a month or two and just hope I don't have more issues like many people are having. It's ridiculous they are having so much problem with speakers and electronics on these trucks. It's 2015! I also have a 2003 F150 and I have never had an issue at all in 12 years.

Question

Was the speaker in stock (something they didn't have to order and you had to come back again for them to replace)???

How long did the replacement take?

Just wondering. I really don't want to spend 1/2 the day at the dealer for this.

I told the service guy it isn't worth my time to mess around with these speakers because they are junk basically and he agreed with me. 8 dollar speaker on a $45,000 truck. Go figure

Add me to the list this happens to...should be good to go now, though. 3rd brake light leak, broken gas door, speaker issue, steering control buttons not working. Should be about finished with the common stuff F-150s come standard with haha

Default Seriously don't think it's the speakers

I have a 2011. Replaced all 4 stock speakers 2 years ago, not because the originals weren't working, they just sounded cheap. A month ago, I started getting the cutting out... sometimes fuzzy, sometimes completely gone. Now I'm down to only one speaker (passenger front). I pulled the driver's side speaker and no damage. No water issues. Harness looked good. So I took it into the dealer. Told them of the wiring harness TSB. They called back and said the harness is fine, it's the adapters I used to run the new speakers to the Ford harness. I'm HIGHLY suspicious of this being the cause due to the consistent reporting of faulty wiring harnesses. But the only way I can disprove their theory is to replace the aftermarket adapters. I have them on order (bought good ones from Crutchfield as opposed to the Ebay ones I bought two years ago). If these don't work, it's going right back to the dealer.
