Default Driver Side Headlight stays on

Hi Everyone, I have a 2014 F150 4x4 Lariat with HID Headlights. Today after coming home and turning the truck off I noticed my drivers side headlight was still on. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks so much! For now I pulled the battery cable off to keep the battery from dying.

Have you made any wiring changes to the truck?

No the truck is stock. I spent the day working with my dealer. We did swap in a different set of HID headlight housings from a good truck from the lot. The problem is still the same. Ford sent a diagnostic pin test we will do at the dealer tomorrow. Hopefully, it will verify the BCM is bad. It is throwing a BCM and Steering Module error code. The good news is the truck is still under warranty. I also wanted to add during the testing that with the engine off, key off, and head light switch in the "OFF" position the drivers side headlight will turn on by itself after 2-3 minutes. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. In addition we pulled the FUSE on the drivers side headlight. After 2-3 minutes the passenger side turned on by itself. It's like the BCM sensed the Drivers Side light out then sent power to the other side. Stay tuned ...

Well based on the pin out testing and BCM error code it looks like a faulty BCM. The dealer swapped headlights with a known good pair and the issue persisted. Then did a pin out test and error code check. They ordered the new BCM and will be in next week. However, you'll get a kick out of this. After letting my truck sit overnight with the headlight fuses out they put my headlights back in and the problem stopped. They're still installing a new BCM week at Ford Warranty Cost . I hate electrical problems. Sometimes I feel I need a young priest and an old priest to perform an excercism.

I had the same issue with my 2013 FX4. I won't go through the whole story but I eventually found water where my new headlight housing plugged into the old pin clip. The water was shorting the pins together making the light stay on. I blew it out with an airgun and it's been good for about a week now. I put some electrical tape around it to try and waterproof it as much as I could. Hope this helps.
