2012 5.0 and no problems.

Just listen to the engine carefully for any unusual ticks or knocks. A couple of members have had their engines replaced recently for noise at the 20K mile point. Most likely some rogue problems, but something to be aware of.

2012 5.0. No issues, love it. Like Alcoloco said, just listen for knocks...a few batches of bad blocks were produced that had issues with cylinder distortion, causing a knock. If you hear a knock, move on to the next one.

No deals today.!, those 09+electric assisted steering racks are weird to get used to... I'm used to muscling the steering wheel around because it's a truck after all haha,

I've had an F250 super crew 6.0 diesel FX4, a Dodge Cummins 2500, and now my F-150 with the 5.0. It's just enough truck for me. Not too little, not too much. The 5.0 sounds and runs great and gets pretty decent gas mileage. Good luck in your search.

the 6.4 tuned is a fun truck, as I went to the stealership it was hard to settle for a used xlt as I'm driving a lariat currently, the rebates aren't good enough rite now for a new one, the power was decent getting on off the highway seemed just as roomy in the back for the kiddos as well, Just trying to downgrade just alittle because diesels are expensive to maintain

Not a 5.0L owner, but did come from a bone stock 08 SD 6.4L. I have ZERO regrets getting rid of it. I only drive 10 miles each way to work so the DPF would clog very quickly. I was regening every 150 miles and chewing through fuel (10 mpg avg). I know you were DPF deleted so it helps, but like you said. Lumbering around a 3/4 ton with day to day errands was a pain. I also sold my toy hauler so a big truck was no longer needed. I don't miss the diesel expenses either. I haven't done a single thing besides 8 oil changes in my 27k miles. With the diesel at the same mileage, I'd been through 3 fuel filters, 8 expensive oil changes (15 quarts), more expensive fuel and lighter wallet.
