Hey guys, I have just started noticing a rattle when I close my drivers side door. I have a 2010 xlt s-cab. First thing I did was check all of the door pockets, to make sure my two year old did have a car or something in there. Next I Checked passenger side. nice and quiet. Its seems like the latch is ok, but Im not sure how to adj it anyway. When I shut the door is just sounds like there is some play in the bottom. a quick rattle everytime I shut it.. Driving me nuts. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

open the rear door shut it really hard, then try the drivers side door again, sometimes the rear door will not catch properly and it will rattle loudly.

 

and if that don't work take it to the dealer and have them adjust it.

 

I tried that, The rear door seems to be secure. I also read a previous thread about ice on the skid plate. The noise is coming from the bottom right of the driver door.. I appreciate the suggestion !

Good luck at dealer its a very common prob with the door here is a fix. the rubber grommet at bottom of door is not long enuf in my opinion so i read a few other posts and fixs here is what I did. 2 rubber grommets and some glue

With grommets no rattle
