Default Door Panel Replacement

Gentlemen, Just joined this site and enjoy the information. I just purchased a 2013 FX4 with about everything you could get on it at the time. It has the black interior with brushed aluminum "accent" panels on the doors. Anyway, the driver's side trim panel is scratched up. Originally the dealer said he would replace it but then said I had to get a whole interior door panel which he was not willing to pay for. Short of it is that he gave me an additional $200 off price and it's my problem now. Does anyone in this astute group know if/where I can either get a new aluminum trim piece or how I might get this one fixed (a last ditch effort will be some very fine steel wool and try to make the whole thing look better). Thx

As far as I know they are like plastic riveted to the truck, but you could always... as a last ditch effort... pop em all off and vinyl wrap em, same color or different. Turns out stellar on a lot of rides.

Check tascaparts.com and see if you can get the part you need. I use them for OEM part sourcing.

I'd go with this option. I know that they sell vinyl wrap in a brushed aluminum pattern. I'm not sure whether or not it'll match the factory brushed aluminum look, but it exists at least. Tons of patterns and colors to choose from. Very easy and fun vinyl wrapping stuff.

I haven't done these door panel pieces yet, but they seem pretty straightforward. I tested it on the little triangular piece towards the front of the door (above the arm rest) and it looks good. I was going to do the long rectangular piece today since I had it off for the holiday, but of course it rained.
