Don't NOT 3M your truck

I live in southeast Iowa and they throw sand with salt on all the time. Maybe we don't have the heavy cut in and out traffic but I have driven in it in the large cities and if you only leave two to three lengths between you and the guy in front of you, you are tail gaiting plain and simple. Driving instructors always tell you to leave one length for every 10 mph. So 50 means 5 not 3 and 60 means 6 not 3. Let them weave in and out---keep your distance from the guy in front of you. So big deal you get to where you are going 2 or 3 minutes later at least you are driving defensively and most likely not getting sand blasted.

Imagine if insurance companies could judge your premium by the number of chips you get? They're missing out on tons of money!
"Well sir, you have 12 more chips than you did last year. That's a 7% increase in chips. That means you must tailgate. So your rate will go up by 5%."

For how many miles he had, he had pictures and his front end was sand blasted. It was BAD. No one gets that bad unless you are following too close. That is a fact. Especially if his windshield is the same way.

That's why I like chrome bumpers.
The chip-gaurd works good, but it does yellow as it ages. Not too noticeable on a darker car (until it gets real bad) but you can see it on white cars even when new. I just detailed a white 2013 Porsche 911 that had the entire front end done, along with behind the doors on the rear fenders. You can notice it.

I drive on a lot of rural roads and even vehicles 100ft in front of me spit up sand at my vehicle. I beg of you to stop assuming things about my life/driving style.
