Default Does this void your warrenty?

I'd like to add aftermarket remote keyless entry and eventually power windows some time later. Question: If I do this myself will this void my new 2009 F150 XL's warrenty? Thanks Don

I believe that the general consensus has been that your warranty is only in danger if the aftermarket part or the work to install it is the direct cause of the warranty issue. I.E. you modify the electrical system to add something and the work you do causes your computer to fry, the dealer may deny it.

It depends on what component fails.

Unfortunately, while the spirit of that law is proconsumer, in reality it is only as good as your attorney.

To the OP, a lot of it depends on the relationship you have with your dealership. Some are much more lenient than others when it comes to mods.
