The oil monitor on the truck has a record of changes you enter, but realistically the only time it matters is if there is a failure, and they do oil analysis to determine if it is serviceable anyway.

^^that is a good point about oil analysis. If poor maintenence caused a failure they will find it.

Where exactly does it record this information? And what happens when I reset this data to 100% myself after an oil change???

I'm not sure so the oil monitor "records" anything, it just shows a % of the oil life based on your driving history.

I know for a fact none of this oil life information is transmitted to Ford.

(However, ONSTAR on a GM vehicle DOES keep up with your oil history/mileage).

the Vehicle Health Report on the Ford is much different. (thru SYNC)

I change mine every 5000 miles on the dot or maybe a little before. But to be quite honest I got 5 years of free oil changes and tire care (rotate/balance etc.) from my ford dealer when I bought my 09 SCREW Lariat. And they keep all the records and I keep a copy as well. But If I still have this truck when the free changes are up I will definately do it myself.
