Do I need a new grille or just insert?
This is my current 2013 grille and not feeling it...
I want to replace the insert (red arrows) and keep the original body colored black frame (black arrows)
I want this girlle....
I could get a chrome one and paint it black.
My question is...is it possible to just replace the insert, and if so can I find just the insert? All i can find is the full grille.
I am also looking for a bull bar in all black I dont want glossy. I am looking for one that "hugs" the front of the truck..that doesnt stick out "too" far
Thanks Jeff

Off topic but I'll sell my Tremor grille insert if I can get someone to custom make an adaptor for the Raptor grille onto my regular F150 hood.

I tried to use a 6 bar chrome insert from my 2011 and put it into a chrome surround from a 2013, that I picked up from another member. The tabs on the insert did not match the slots on the surround. Close but no cigar. You should probably replace the whole grill.

Depends on how the grille is constructed, my xlt all chrome grille was literally 5 separate pieces,
Look at the back side of the grille and see if it has tabs that protrude thru the grill main body for the bars and c-clamps like this,
If so then you can take apart and paint or just remove the surround and put it on a grille of your liking.
My grill had way too much chrome so I got an FX grille from a member here and used his PTM surround with my grille insert plasti dipped and then put the chrome bars/clamps back on.
The contrast is perfect for what I wanted.
The FX insert was all one solid piece so the bars/clamps could not be removed so I put my old chrome surround on it and resold it to another member here and nearly recouped all money spent.
The only issues that some have reported are the grills may be different year to year for mounting tabs so stay with the same year model if mixing and matching for best results.

Have you seen the Tremor grille? I just did the swap on mine.

See post #123, the OP on this thread shows what is involved. Should be similar if you do the other grille.
