Do I or Dont I
a local dealership that's been trying to tempt me to trade in my 13xlt may finally have a winner. I went in there 8 months ago to check out a lifted 17 Sierra Denali but wanted to stick with my 150. now today he sends me pics for this:
2014, 50k miles. price is a little high but I think I can get them down.
my question is, should I do it? the boss approves and it has EVERYTHING I want for my current truck. a little bit of me doesn't feel finished with my 13 and the modifications I had planned.
anyone else made the jump to a raptor? regret it?
decisions, decisions....

I don't have a Raptor & honestly don't need one living where I do, but they're cool & if I had one, I'd want a 6.2
These new V6 Raptors are great, but they just don't have the initial grunt or of course the sound of a V8
Sounds like you have a lot to think about over a few drinks...lol

Sweet pickup. If you've been holding out for a Raptor and you have the go-ahead why not?? My only reservation if I was in your position (wish I was..) would be upgrading pickups but only going from a 2013 to a 2014. I'm not sure of the pricing on the Raptor but around here they are still bringing big bucks. I compare that price to the cost of a newer F150, Sierra, etc, and you can upgrade quite a few years and get a pickup still under warranty for what the cost of a raptor would be. The problem is...those aren't Raptors . It looks clean and those 6.2s are awesome! Good luck with your decision

that was the one point the boss had. shes a 4 year girl with her vehicles and would prefer I get something newer but that's her .02
I've always wanted a gen1 raptor but wasnt in the financial position to until now. the new Raptors are beautiful but everytime I hear one driving by with the skinny pedal down, it just doesnt sounds right. I'm an Irish immigrant, I just want a big old murican v8... lol

There is a lot about the Raptor that I like. But I wouldn't buy one. The payload and towing limits are pretty low and while I don't tow often, I need to be able to tow more than a Raptor will pull when I do.
My 5.0 is averaging 16.9 mpg overall since buying it. That is a mix of city, hwy,and towing. It will get 19-20 hwy and 15 ish city and towing. Most of what I've read about the 6.2's says to expect about 9-10 city and 12-13 hwy.

I'm with a few others here. For that type money you can get a much newer fully loaded truck with a 5.0 and better towing capabilities. Heck, you could go up to a newer F250. For me the "looks" don't justify the money, but you should do what you feel is right for you. Good luck with your decision and let us know what you decided.
