Divorce = New Truck
Facing a divorce and due to my soon to be ex-wife being on the current loan, I found it better to buy a new truck versus refinancing the current one. I'm leaving a 2011 XLT and getting a 2012 XLT...
New truck is an EB and has the following extras that the old one didn't have, 3.55 Locking Rear, Rearview Camera, Tailgate Step and Trailer Brake Control. Other than that they are completely identical and considering I came from a Lemon Law 2009 to the 2011 I got a pretty sweet deal in the end.
Picking her up this morning and I'm a little excited about the EB, monthly payments only went up $22 but hopefully the gas savings over the 2011 5.0L at 13.4mpg will make up for it...
Who says divorce can be a bad thing?

13.4 mpg?? I honestly dont know how hard i would have to drive to get that. I drive hard now, as in i qpotate tires to save the back ones, and i have a lifetime avg of 16.7. I can baby it to 18-20. That said. Dont expect better mileage out of the eco if u drive that hard or tow alot. Figure that 22 each month is buying u alot of torque.

She can't. She wants to break all ties, i.e. no shared loans, etc.. Attorney said I needed to refi the truck to keep her away from it and I live in a Equitable Distribution state. We are currently seperated so this is not a marital asset.
Thing is, I didn't drive it hard. I have the notorious shudder issue (now it is constant) and am the OP of this sticky so the truck is probably affected by it and attributing to the lousy mpg...

That's great! Now your next lady won't have to roll in your old lady's seat! Good thinking!
...and if you're going to be dating again, might I recommend the split bench over the bucket seats with center console...or a SuperCrew.
GL with the process.
