I you do I would stick with a site vendor, thats just IMHO. There is a reason why the pay to be a vendor and they have a reputation to uphold.

Mine barks tires hitting 2nd gear on full throttle without any tune, sure hope a tune does more than just that. It would be nice if we had somewhere on this forum with a list of the tunes available from each tuner but that's probably not possible with all the changes from year to year. The best you can do is read up as much as you can on each tuner by doing searches on the forum and then make your choice based on who you think has the most positive reviews and the least amount of negative reviews. Lately I've read the most positive reviews on LET so if I was to buy one now I'd probably go that direction but that could change based on more research.

Ya most tunes add 100+wtq to the truck, so you should do more than just bark tires. lol

Also when reading reviews see if it is always the same people posting them. Like myself I post that I like my tuner often, but look for lots of people that only post their review once or twice then you know it is a lot of different people then a group.

I wouldn't use the canned tunes unless it was all I could afford, custom tunes are the only way to literally fly the road. If I could keep my foot out of it I definitely get better fuel economy but the way my truck drives like a sports car is just too much fun.

I have an SCT tune as well. haven't played with the tuner yet to see what the mapping is. I have another question... this is my first tuned vehicle. I was wondering, is it harmful or even possible to just leave the tuner connected at all times. then changing maps would be easier (wouldn't it) and available when you want it.

It don't work that way, you can leave it connected, as a matter of a fact, you must leave it connected to record everything for the person that makes the tunes to tweak it for your truck (if needed) otherwise you would have to buy separate software (pricey) to do your own tunes to then load into the tuner to change settings, sort of like flashing a computer bios.

It's not something you can do on the fly.

Like Rnlcomp said you can't shift on the fly, but leaving the device connected all the time won't hurt anything. You still have to shut off the truck to load a new tune.

May sound like a stupid questions but how do I know which ones are vendors. That's a good point.

Very good question. It will say vendor under their name. Ie, 5 star, MPT, etc. The vendor directory doesn't seem to be updated. I couldn't find if unleashed was a vendor or not.
