Default disable day time running lights?

I have a 2010 f150 and I'm installing HID lights. in the instructions is says that I need to disable the day time running lights, is this something I can do or do I have to bring my truck to the dealership and get them to do it?

I did not know you even had them.

But, if you do, yes, you need to go to dealer to have them disabled, if they will.

Do your lights automatically turn on when you start your truck? I think you can get daytime running lights enabled by the dealer, but judging from your question, you haven't.

If he's Canadian, then they came with the truck, and the dealer will not disable them since its illegal to disable them in Canada. I saw a relay type setup on here recently that showed how to make the DRL's send full voltage to the headlamps, that might be a goood path to check out if you're in Canada

If you're not in Canada - see if the dealer can figure out how to disable them for you

We have had them by law since 1996.
