I find the plasti-dip phenomenon interesting. The cheapest base models come with black plastic trim pieces. What's the appeal in taking a Platinum and making it look like an XL.

I do like your truck though.

Some people just do not like chrome, me being one of them. When I was looking for my truck, I was originally looking at XLTs. They all were offering the chrome package as a free incentive, and I honestly hated all that chrome. Then, I saw the FX2 for the first time. The trim was a dream for me, and right then and there, that is what I knew I wanted.

What's the process like. Do you have to remove all those parts and re-install?

not at all...it breaks and peels over any gaps so its not necessary to remove them unless you want. also unlike paint theres no prepwork required

So u can just pull your wheels off and plastadip them with no prep, and just peel the excess off the tires?

Yes. You just want them clean before you spray them. Peel off the excess on the tires.

That appears to be the case.

I'm looking at doing this myself, but I want to know what the process was like for the F-150 emblems. OP, was any tape used for the emblems, or did you just let it hit the truck, then peel it away? Also, did you just use regular black Plasti Dip in a spray can?
