Default Which Diode for lighting?

Okay so after all this talk about back up light wiring I question what diode I should have used. After some research I see that the back up light system will push at most 3 Amps and the usual 12-14 Volts. So what diode should I be using?

While the current draw of the lights may be 3A, the wonderful thing about using a relay is that the current draw of the relay coil is typically no more than 150-200 mA for the beefier relay, smaller ones are usually in the tens of mA. Most readily available rectifying diodes should suffice, no need for anything extravagant
