Default Different Temps Coming From Dash Vents

I was taking a trip yesterday and had my climate control set to 72 (not in dual zone mode). I noticed that the temperature coming from my drivers side dash vents was significantly lower than the temperature coming from the passenger dash vent next to the radio. Does this sound like a symptom of a blend door issue? I've got just under 35k miles on the truck now, so I might need to get it to the dealer ASAP... I'm just so weary of doing this because the dealer seems to mess up more things than they fix.

Thanks for the help!

Go ASAP yes. It is a blend door actuator that controls that and the ones in these trucks are pretty hard to reach. I just did one on my wife's '13 Explorer that was 500 miles out of warranty. Wouldn't recommend it!

^^^^agreed!!!!. Repairing a blend door is labor intensive and costly!

Thanks guys! I haven't been putting many miles on my truck lately, so I at least have a month or two before I'll be out of warranty.

In that case, you DEFINITELY want to go now. Some dealers are notorious for dragging their feet so those months go by and then you're stuck with the cost.

Tried to replicate the issue on my truck again this evening and didn't notice the temperature variation. I still think I might have a blend door issue because sometimes I hear it make sort of a faint pop noise as I'm adjusting the temperature. It's normally just one pop I hear, but it stops after that. I just know I'm going to take it to the dealer and they're going to say they didn't find anything, and then I'm going to be paying out some cash once it finally fails out of warranty.

Not sure if I should buy an extended warranty now, or just trade the dang thing in on a Camry, haha.

Ok, 200 miles before my warranty is up! I'm taking it to the dealer this week for this item, but what do I do if the dealer can't replicate the issue? Am I SOL? Has anyone had luck with the dealer documenting a potential issue before warranty is up, but then taking care of the issue even if it is out of warranty? Should I buy an extended warranty now just to cover my butt (probably cost more than to fix this, but would cover any other items that would come up)? Please help!!!
