So I just had a remote start installed by a ford dealer. It went on my 2010 fx4. I don't have the mykey. When I start it n get in. I can open the door n its fine, stays running. But as soon as key goes in ignition.. it shuts truck off. Not only is this a pain..but double starts means more wear on the starter. I've only heard of the issue of shutting truck off on mykey vehicles. So is there a way around this? If so I for sure want it where I can get in and put key in..turn to run. And go. Thanks for any help

 

There is a way to program it, did they give you the manual by chance?

 

The only thing they gave me with it was s user manual they stuck in the cup holder. Just basically says push twice for start. Hold to shut down. Just basic use manual. I forgot to say. Its the bi directional separate fob with start button n panic button from ford.

If I'm not mistaken , every model other than the XL ( without the CD radio ) comes with MYKEY standard. So, it would seem your FX4 would have MYKEY and it would require the work-around that's been posted on the forum.
