Default device not supported error

I'm sure someone on here can help me with this. I have the USB port just below my navigation (2010 plat). I bought a 320GB Toshiba USB 2.0 powered HD. I was hoping to put my MP3's on it to play through my radio. When I plug it in it lights up the HD, but after a few minutes I get a device not supported error on the screen of the radio. Does anyone have any suggestions as to if it's possible to get this to work?

thanks

All I can tell you is that usb HD do work. I have a 1tb WD HD that I use all the time.

Did you try the HD in a computer to make sure it works ok?

The HD needs to be formatted properly. FAT32.
