Default Dealer Problems

I took my 2012 Fx4 into the dealer 2 weeks ago because my sunroof wouldn't close and they diagnosed a broken track and ordered parts to fix. The parts were suppose to arrive in 3 days but took 2 weeks. I dropped the truck off this morning to get it fixed and picked it up after work. Right away I notice grease all over the truck, both sides of the doors, the roof, the glass, seats, and headliner. Than I noticed the 2 rear clothes hangers were broken. I point it out to the service advisor and he orders the clothes hangers. Than I notice the center gear shift and steering wheel are scratched to hell, I assume from the headliner resting on them. Finally the service advisor offers to replace the gear shifter and detail the truck for free. When I get home I noticed a small chip and crack in the windshield on the top right corner and my dome light wasn't working properly. Am I the only one the has a issue with dealers returning vehicles filthy and broken? And what would you guys do in my position?

For that exact reason- I hate dropping my truck off at the dealer or any tech other than myself.

Seems like you need to find a new dealership. At least they are making it right...

I recently moved to a new town and decided to try this dealer. My truck is covered under a Ford ESP warranty for 2 more years so that's why I took it to them. They're trying to make it right but I'm afraid irs going to be returned with something broken again. All in all its not a great first experience with them

The dealer needs to make it just like it was before. And you should make sure the General Manager is aware of the issues they created.

had a similar issue with my truck when i first got it. Time line with the moonroof track and everything. had grease on the inside of the passenger window and my tint film was pealed in two spots on the passenger side front window. I cut my losses with that dealership and have been bringing it to a different one since. I would however send an email to the GM about this situation, or even go in face to face meeting the GM.

A few years back, I too had a similar situation when I bought my truck. They did a few stupid things under the hood, and left a dirty greasy interior. At first I was Pee'd off, but took a deep breath and had a chat with the service manager and the GM. Of course the truck came back cleaner than new. I've been using the same dealer since, all my service gets done there (ESP) and they have been great to work with. Not sure if that is the norm or I have a flag beside my name, but regardless, they have done good service work since that point.
Go have a chat with the boss, to make sure things get looked after
