Default Dealer oil change w/ a tune

Should you go back to stock if you have a tune and take your truck in for an oil change at the dealership.

I would, but first I would make sure they can't read it anyway! From what I understand it doesn't matter if you go back to the stock tune, they can still see that the factory tune was accessed, changed and so on. Unless the tuner has a way of flashing the OEM software, then Ford will know not only that you had a tune but exactly the date and time you tuned it, put it back to stock and any changes you made! I haven't went that way yet because I haven't found out for sure 100% that it can't be seen so until I do I will wait until the warranty is up. Good Luck

Why would dealer be rooting in your computer if you there for an oil change? If you are there for a repair that's one thing. Emissions test is another good reason to go to stock, but an oil change? Come on. I watch my truck at the dealer get an oil change and they have never brought the tech. computer over for squat or plugged into my OBD II port.

No worries, a tech with the know how to use the diagnostic equipment is NOT going to waste time $$$ on every oil change that comes in the shop, he has bills to pay and a family to feed. Unless he gets flag time, and he won't unless you request it or tell them you have a driveability or check engine light concern.

I used to be a Ford lube tech. Check the mileage, make the sticker, change the oil and do a safety check. Unless your check engine light comes on you have nothing to worry about.
