Dealer didnt put enough oil in my 5., 5.5qt LOW!!!
So i got my oil changed 12/31/13, since then iv only driven 3k miles. About 2-3 weeks ago I'm driving to work and at around 1800rpms it sounds like the trans is slipping because it gets loud and sluggish. I look at rpm's and they are not moving but truck sounds louder, a little more gas and it goes away over 2200 rpm's . Everyday it is happening more and more. I just relocated for a new job so I didnt really have time to waste at dealer.
Finally last week I get time to go to dealer, 2 hours later the service advisor comes by and asks who changed my oil last. I tell her my dealer back home. She says I have no oil leaks and everything down below is snug but yet I am low on 5.5 quarts of oil!!!!! No way in hell I could have burnt through that much oil in 3k miles and not notice anything. It wasn't knocking it wasn't making any weird noises I just figured the trans was goin out.
So the service lady tells me the tech thinks the last dealer changed my oil thinking it was an eco boost and only added 5-5.5qt the eco takes in oil, originally shorting me 2.8- 2.3qts and losing the rest in normal driving. Still that's a **** load of oil to burn in 3k miles. I called the dealer and told them off, of course they say its all hearsay and they can't go off what this other dealer is saying. I said they are known for messing up customer cars, example my sunroof mess.
So new dealer topped me off, at work I had a tech change my oil, I took sample and kept filter. I poured about 6 qts through it to flush **** out then added 7.8qt of full synthetic. Truck is running great not weird noises, but I'm worried of any damage that's been done. Any ideas on what I should do?

I would send a sample off to blackstone and see what comes back.
Edit: Sample of the original oil.

Sorry to hear this, but I would have gone to the dealer, or checked fluid levels the first day it happened. Saying you didn't have time to check anything makes it as much your fault as theirs.

Another reason why I change my own oil!

You're right I should have checked but after 14 days solid 15 hour working days the last thing I had on my mind at the end of the day was check my fluids.

You must have time coming out your.......ear. Seriously though, if you are asking someone to do a user maintainable task - you should check the work.

I disagree with the "it's your fault too" arguments. That's the dumbing down of America (and elsewhere too) that is going on these days. Saying "you should have checked their work" just gives the dumb and lazy a pass. If you are paying good money (to the dealer, no less), you should expect a decent job. You shouldn't have to follow around behind those idiots with a dipstick, some paper towels and your own torque wrench checking every fluid level and nut and bolt.
