This is so pathetic.. Did they really expect you to look at that and think "job well done???" That's absolutely ridiculous

Fords "customer service" has just been absolutely horrendous all across the board lately. More often than not dealers seem to be screwing things up or denying customers.. Something needs to be done seeing this just makes me pray that I don't have any real issues because people who spray paint wheels as a "refinish" don't have any business working on my truck lol

Sorry to hear about this happening to you man. This sucks and gives the rest of us in this business a bad name.

Having painted quite a few rims myself, many for these trucks, i know that this is not that complicated to get right. Usually(this is where i work anyway) when dealing with a scratched rim, the tech will break the bead, and remove the valve stem. But not remove the tire, so the fresh paint does not get scratched again when putting the tire back on. These rims do have clear coat. Even though they are matt. We have matting agents to vary the degree of matt in clear. Semi gloss, satin, matt, eggshell, and flat. We have a chart in our paint room to match it up.

But with that said, I'm surprised many on this thread were on board with the rim refinish. Just last week i saw a tech rotating tires (i work in the body shop, but we share the shop with the truck shop) and one rolled away from him, and of course flopped onto the face of the rim, scratching it. What happened? New rim. Period. Called the customer, told them what happened, after they had already replaced it with the new rim. Customer was pumped because of the honesty, and then fixing it 100% right without questioning, or trying to pass it off.

You deserve new rims. Especially after the refinish fail.

I can't believe a dealership allowed that from a vendor. Was it actually someone who specializes in wheel refinish or was it the local handyman?

I have had wheels refinished and they looked brand new and matched the ones that didn't need the curb rash and paint fixed. There is nothing wrong with s properly done refinish. I wouldn't hesitate for a refinish. Now I'd be asking for a new set though.

Wow. Hate to see this. That's **** poor work, and then them trying to pass it off as acceptable is beyond ridiculous. I hope you get satisfying resolution. Interested to see how this turns out

Did the dealership send the porter to Ace to pick up a few rattle cans of Krylon?

Keep us updated on whether or not they order you new wheels...

Hi FX4life

welcome to my world, my truck was in the dealer for service a few weeks ago and they managed to rip off the front door, pissed you have no idea, unfortunately you have no option but to allow them to make it right and if its not up to your standard then scream.
i managed to get a few other jobs done for free and you should push them for compensation of some sort.

my heart goes out to you as i fully understand how you feel.

cheers

Big Pete
