I had a Ford F150 truck bought back under the Texas Lemon Law due to bad front brakes. I think the frame was bent or something. The replacement truck did not have the same problems.

That was some time ago.

i believe the stock oem rotors on the 09-14 f150 tend to warp easly for some reason. i have 37k on my 13 and im prob gonna change out all the rotors with EBC in the spring just because i have a little shimmy.

That's about what the dealer quoted me 500$.

I would never allow the dealer to do it though

Kind of a misleading title here. You say they said towing....then you say this.

Then you say this...

Or did I miss something else?

Just go aftermarket and be done with it. Buy once, cry once, and they will outperform and outlast the OEM rotors and pads.

Most they should be expected to do is turn the rotors free of charge. Honestly brakes are a wear item. Why should ford be at fault for how you drive and or brake, maybe you ride the brakes a lot, or previous owner did. These trucks are known for under performing OEM rotors. Why put more of the same junk back on? I know mine are getting close to needing a replacement most likely in the spring, I'll be going with Powerstops all the way around.

Mine's already got 45K miles on it the rears have been completely replaced, when I bought it. The fronts were turned at 24K miles. Pretty normal.

I had the same problem with my 13 FX4. Front end shook while braking at about 25,000 miles, dealer said it was because I was towing too much. I said I didn't tow, he kind of gave me the "I don't want to deal with this look" and reluctantly took the keys. They machined the rotors and everything has been good since (at 32,000 now).

I think maybe this is something Ford is hoping will just go away when they blame it on people using their trucks for what trucks were made to do...

If he was just buying a used vehicle, then I would concede your points (sort of)...but he bought a "certified pre-owned" vehicle, which SHOULD mean something (but rarely does). If I bought a certified pre-owned vehicle, then I would expect something as important as brakes to be top notch. He said he noticed the brakes on his way home, it has nothing to do with how he's driving and it shouldnt have anything to do with how the previous driver drove.

The main issue here is that he didn't take it back to the original dealer and hold their feet to the fire. New dealer recognizes its a wear item and doesnt want to pay to clean up for another dealer's mess

I bought my truck non-certified from a non-ford dealer, rotors were warped out of the gate just like OP....took it right back to them and they cut them and its been fine since then.

If it were me and it was a hassle to go back, i'd probably just take the opportunity to upgrade...but that's how I view any broken item on my vehicles.
