Yup. Dealer said they couldn't replicate. Went out to head home BOOM same problem. WTF. Dealer said huh - that's odd. I get it but I don't get it. Sat overnight with a full charge - fired right up...getting a chevy

I knew a mechanic like that.....when he couldn't fix or figure the problem out he told the customer to go buy a different brand vehicle........

I don't think he is in business any more though....

He must have made enough $$ to retire early !

Here is a video of what happens. I can disconnect the positive and it will fire back up normally, but then this happens again.

Its been a month now and no problems at all, daily driver. Why would that be? I've read most of my manual but I never saw this section, and I've never heard of a "required BMS procedure". So why would the OP have these problems due to this reason but not me?
I'm curious about this as well, this was also my experience. Anyone?

Progress - Frocking mouse go into the wiring harness. Tech thinks he can fix without replacing the whole thing. I'm assuming that was the short that was draining the battery and then causing the problems. When they couldn't duplicate I started yanking on the positive battery cable and we could hear things turning on and off. He said if they do have to replace the harness it could be a couple grand - that would suck.

Still unplugged? Any issues? I took mine into the dealer and had the battery replaced because it was cheaper there and I didn't want any problems. It seems like my headlights and dash lights are brighter now.

Ive got a question for you. i didn't want all these problems and I only paid $140 for the motocraft battery so I had the dealer put it in thinking they would use the reset tool. I have noticed my dash-lights, including the blue needle gauges and headlights are much brighter. Think there is anything to worry about? is there a chance they didn't reset the BMS?

Put a volt meter on the battery with engine running and sensor unplugged, it should read any where from 12.5-14v.

Possibly but disconnecting that sensor eliminates the BMS anyway. If you insist on leaving it plugged in lock the truck up and let the truck sit undisturbed for 8hrs. It'll auto reset.
