at this point, it appears Ford has no intention on making things right and admitting the truck is a dud, so I guess I will have to carry a jumper pack with me in my new $42,000 truck, pretty sad in my opinion

Well welcome to my world... 3 batteries in mine in less than a year period also.

as my sig shows you can see how many times it has been dead. ford isn't even entertaining replacing my truck, all I get is "next time its dead bring it in again" well its been in FIVE different times so far with no known cause as to what is killing it. 2 of the times it was in they had it for a week each time....

So I also have a $42k truck that I have to drive around with a spare battery under the back seat so I can reliably get to work and back with my "new" truck.....

What part that i offered dont u understand. Read ur owners manual. U must charge ur battery and let set untouched hooked up overnight. The management system works that way.

I believe the problem could be in the smart junction relay box located in the passenger kick plate.

I had .700 milliamperes draw traced back to it, it's related to the delayed radio and delayed lights off set up. Mine still acts up from time to time, But I have a work around where I can reroute power from a switched source that goes off from key.
I lose radio memory settings, no big deal.
The junction box is pricy and needs programming I think.

Someone said think of these trucks like computers; sometimes they will reboot from minor problems.

Dude,
you have no idea what you are talking about, this issue is not related to the battery management system..

If u refuse to try the known remedy for ur prblem. It is the teason the new battery goes dead. Unhook battery or new, instal a charged battery, do nothing else, let it set in the gArage overnight untouched. By morning the fresh battery voltage will settle down and management will recognize it an work correctly until ? The guy with the melted post had a loose connection or corrosion maybe both.

Do you have anything extra hooked up to the battery? Doing so can make the computer think your battery is jun a higher state of charge than it really is.

FWIW, I just cleaned my battery terminals which were super bad with battery oxidation and could not have been making very good contact.

On the other hand, perhaps your battery is no diner, bad.

On the other end of the spectrum I had a Motorcraft battery last 11 years.
