Btw, I spent $350-$400 on my retrofits, don't know where people get the $1,300 number from.
Well retrofits still use an aftermarket kit which can fail just as easy as a hid kit. So I get $1300 from genuine ford projectors. That's the only true hid lights

I know just my personal opinion is that money will never recoop when trading the truck in so no need to spend. That's my opinion. It isn't wrong or right. I'm not going to bash others that like them.

Finally received my lights and installed them tonight. They look great! Much better than the halogens!

When did I say anything about failure rates? The OEM ford projectors use the same ballasts and bulbs as aftermarket. They are osram brand, which is a fairly higher end brand in the retrofit world. I'm saying that any HID kit without a projector is the wrong way to do it. I'm not saying DDM lights are bad quality and will fail easy, they are just not the right way to do it.

I just can't justify spending hundreds of hundreds of dollars on headlights to project the hid beam. To be honest the DDM's last night worked about 10000 times better than halogen and when I looked at my lights head on they weren't blinding like most people's. I really don't see a problem with mine. I love the look of the projectors just don't like the price. And I went with DDM because pretty much all aftermarket kits are junk. I do know this. So why would I spend $150 a kit on junk or spend $50 on junk. If the $50 ones fail just as fast I'm not out much money but by the time being I'm safer when I drive in areas with high deer populations. That's the way I look at it. I know my idea isn't right to some but to some people it is very smart because retros aren't going to up the value of my truck any anyways and neither will OEM ones from Ford. So no point. I can switch my lights back to stock in a breeze
