Daylighter choices
So I'm trying to decide what lights to put behind my stock Xlt grill.
I'm wondering the heat output between the KC daylighters long range vs driving lights. Will they melt the plastic or paint on the grill? Will the grill let out enough light?
Anyone else have either of these lights?

I have had the KC Slimlighters (130w titanium finish driving) on my previous vehicle and I have 4 Daylighters (2x 130w driving 2x 130w long range) that I am getting ready to install on my FX4 now on a front
lightbar. I would not really recommend either for a behind the grille install as both put out major heat which would be right up against your radiator. Now all of this being said they dont produce enough heat to melt the plastic stone guards that attach directly to the metal housings from KC but I have a feeling the plastic used for these stone guards is just a little bit better than that used in the FoMoCo Grilles. The 100w may be enough less heat to swing it but these babies do got some SERIOUS HOT in them. Also the daylighters are BEASTS the online pics dont really do them justice size wise, it might be a tight fit, especially since as they are designed with most of the 5 1/4" depth is in front of the mounting stud which would mean you would have to come up with some sort of bracket spacing the light further back towards your radiator that would also support the weight (hefty). Have you considered something less ginormous like a PIAA 510? That only has about 1 3/4" in front of the mounting stud and it is a traditional 55w kit that would produce MUCH less heat.
