Dashcam - Installation & Review (Pics + Video)

Hi Pat,
Great to hear you figured it out. The rotating mechanism is stiff so that it doesn't accidently rotate on its own because of this, it might be hard to figure it out the first time.
For other people who haven't figured it out yet, just hold onto the connector part and twist the part the lens is on to rotate it up and down.
The box and manual does not say it is a Mini 0803, but it definitely is a genuine Mini 0803. The manufacturers use the same boxes and manuals for both the Mini 0801 and Mini 0803.
If you or anyone else runs into any other problems, send me an email at kelvin@blackboxed.ca.

The best way to see where to mount the Mini 0803 is to plug it into your car and the screen on the dash cam itself will show what it sees depending on where you mount it. Because it has a wide angle lens, all you need to do it do your best to stick it near the middle of the windshield and keep it as straight as possible. Of course, put it in a place that is unobtrusive. You can easily adjust the up and down angle afterwards.

mini 0803
Thanks
There isn't a way to connect the Mini 0803 to a tablet as of yet.

Canada Post says my dash cam is waiting for me at home! Can't wait to get home tonight and un-box it. I will try to get it installed tomorrow. Can anyone confirm that powering it through the USB port is possible? I want to use my USB2 as I rarely use it for listening to music.

The USB port does work for the mini 803 and is better then then the other outlets for the F150. The USB port acutally powers down when you shut the truck off unlike the other power connections like the one on the dash. The supplied USB cord is not long enough to conceal the wire but you can pick up a longer USB to micro connection for a few bucks.
