Default Dash Panel Removal

Hey guys, I'm looking to take one of the panels off from the interior of my truck. I've got one sitting at an autowrecker that I'd like to use to mount my auxiliary switches in but I heard it's not easy to take this panel out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's the silver panel on the left side that houses a vent, the headlight switch and the dash dimmer switch.

If I remember correctly, you'll have to remove the panel on the underside of the sunshade over the instrument panel, and then the trim around the panel to access the tabs and anchors for the silver panels.

This video may be helpful and give you a starting point: https://www.coastaletech.com/F150installation.htm Start at time index 1:48.

Not sure where you "heard it's not easy", however, have removed it several times - it's just a matter of using some nylon pry bars ...

... and gently prying along the outer edges until it pops free and then disconnecting any electrical connections.

There is no need to remove any other panels.

Right underneath the steering wheel there should be a spot to slip your fingers in, gently pull towards you that side has two snap clips. When you get it free slowly work your way around to the top, the panel has a lip on it where it meets the instrument clusters bezel it come off pretty easy , make sure once you get it off you squeeze off the headlight switch because once you disconnect the harness the dinger comes on as well as the running lights
