Default Dash lights

2013 f150 FX4 53000 miles
Problem: When I turn my truck off and pull the key all my lights go off as should.
Close door good to go but if I open the door again light come on as should but when I close the door again instrument lights stay on and nothing else, this doesn't happen all the time, I am aware and have researched the gear shirt park sensor problem and was thinking it was that but now I am wondering. Looking for thoughts before I take to dealer as that is my last resort since I'm sure my 5/60000 warranty will not cover this.
Changed battery 2 weeks ago, it it has been dead one morning since.

Thanks

Any response with a solution to fix this problem of dash lights staying on after shut off and having a drained battery in the morning?

I had it happen a couple years ago and then yesterday morning. The truck would not remote start. I found my dash lights still on. I replaced the battery because it is almost 5 years old.

Truck started as normal this morning but when I got to work I had the Battery Saver message on my radio screen after I took out the keys. I found a thread on here about unplugging the BMS sensor. Unplugged the sensor and I no longer have the message.

I have also read that some people say to lock your doors with your key fob. I try to make sure I do that every night even though I park in my garage.

Thank you LizardKing for your reply. I’m going to see if my local Ford dealership has any experience in resolving this issue. - Lilikoi
