Default Dash Kit

Considering an aftermarket dash kit, possibly carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. Anyone have one of these kits installed? Can ya post pics if so?
Thanks!

I got a dash mat that helped with the glare quite a bit.

I recently purchased carbon vinyl to install on some dash / door pieces. You could probably get the plastic pieces already done up, but for the vinyl and tools (less the heat gun / blow dryer) parts were $25.

That is significantly cheaper than the pre molded kits. However I do not trust myself to get a good result using vinyl and a heat gun. I would undoubtedly install it just a tinsey bit crooked, or have an air bubble in the finish, or melt the vinyl with too much heat.

If you install anything with a grain or bias, make absolutely sure you get all the different pieces done with the grain/bias running the same direction (like brushed aluminum or carbon fiber)

I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I've seen some carbon vinyl installs with the grain running all which directions. I don't think folks think about this when cutting the piece they want to use.
