my 2010 f150 xlt doesn't show gears on the dash. Any ideas?

I don't think it showed up until 2011's introduction of the 5.0 and 3.5tt engines. The 6R80 transmission with the 5.4l had a separate control system from the engine. engine and transmission control functions were combined in one system with the new engines.
