Default Dash Crackling noise

Ok, I've tried searching but the search engine isn't the best.

When I'm in the car for typically 30 mins or longer, I get a crackling noise from center dash, almost as if plastic is expanding. Now it would make sense on cold days but its done this on warm days. Is there some foam or something that causes this? Anyone else dealt with this? Thansk.

I guess you and I are the only ones with the issue. Sometimes its a couple quick crackling/expanding noises, other times its just a quick pop/crack. I'm wondering if heat from the radio building up under the dash and causing something to expand?

Have you brought this to the attention of your local dealer, bigwilly11189? I suggest doing so, as they're best capable of diagnosing this noise. Feel free to use this to locate one and schedule an appointment. Then, please fill me in with the model year and mileage of your truck. I'll look into any available options.

Hey Brittany

I have the same problem bigwilly11189 has with the crackling and popping of dash when your in the truck for any long period of time and has been doing so for quite some time. I will definitely bring this into my dealer to be looked at and see what the problem is (I have the Premium care warranty). I live in Canada so not quite sure if you can help me or not but my Truck was manufactured in the Dearborn plant November 2012 and I took Delivery August 15 2013. My Truck is a 2013 F150 FX4 Blue Flame Super Cab 400A with the 5.0L engine. I currently have 25600Km or 15900 Miles

Thanks

My 2014 fx4 does the same. I tracked it to the sunroof. When I close the slider blind, you don't hear it

Your center dash stops crackling when your close your sunroof slider blind? Kinda not really related to OP's center dash crackling.....

Unfortunately I don't have a sunroof so that can't be the fix for FX4. Was on a 3 hour road trip yesterday and it did the crackling twice.
