exactly. just because something CAN be done doesn't mean it SHOULD be done. you CAN drive yourself off a cliff tonight to see what it feels like, but SHOULD you? you CAN put maple syrup in place of oil in your engine, but SHOULD you? technically any car that passes tech inspection can drive on the road course at daytona, however i am not going to attempt that in my truck as it wouldn't be fun compared to taking my track car there and it wasn't designed for track driving.

Stiffer suspension… so an spl subwoofer with an extremely stiff suspension should work amazingly. It takes considerable effort to flex the suspension on my subwoofers by hand. Well then why even sell free air subwoofers… ohhh marketing. Sorry there’s still no magic. OP if you’re still around you CAN and SHOULD read up on it for yourself as there is certainly lots of misinformation out there.

You're tying to pull a rabbit out of hat. Stick to what works. Measure out what type of enclosure you can build with the space you are allowing for the enclosure. Then find some subs to fit that volume and then an amp to fit the subs.

Then guys elaborate… what is special about a free air/ IF baffle subwoofer because from what I’ve read/slash seen it’s nothing. Certainly didn’t see a single thing about a stiffer suspension being the “special” sauce.

I can't even tell who's arguing what side anymore. Or what the sides are.

This is why I concentrate on home audio. Much more stable environment to play with the sound.

surround, and spiders just to name a few. When you change both, you have a different parameters than a sub designed for sealed/vented enclosures.
Will they 'work', sure, be optimal, no.
