Default Curt 31057 front hitch on NON-ecoboost - will it work/fit ok ?

Is there any reason the 31057 Curt (front) hitch would NOT work on a NON-ecoboost F150?

I don't see why not, but they list it as for the ecoboost. It's a nice one, the lightest I can find, and looks like the easiest one to install. I actually like how it's visible.

Here's a reply from Curt:

" The Eco-Boost trucks have a different core support in them than the regular F-150. We do offer a front hitch for your vehicle it is part number 31368."

My problem with all the front mounted hitches is how low they are. I wish they would extend out the opening in the bumper. It seems like it's hanging really low and with it sitting in the hole opening you could mount the license plate on it.

Well, I'm taking the risk and ordered the 31057. Amazon even says it DOES fit my 2012 Fx4 on their site, so...I guess we'll see. Everything I look at tells me it WILL fit.
Pictures will follow, probably next week. It's a mystery to me why Curt says to buy a different model hitch when this is the one I want...

Perhaps they introduced this "ecoboost" hitch after they had already released the 31368, and did not want to confuse people with multiple choices.

Should receive the hitch today via UPS. Can't wait to install it (hopefully). I'll post pics.

So, after going back and forth with Curt, and studying, comparing, measuring, etc,...

Though Curt says it's only for EcoBoost, I can tell you that the Curt 31057 fits perfectly on my 2012 FX4 5.0 (coyote) Screw 4x4, no issues, nothing strange at all. (Not that it will work for anyone else...disclaimer... )

If fact, the HUGE advantage (IMHO) is this version of a front hitch does NOT require the removal of ANY air deflectors, or ANY modifications/cutting to anything. It also requires NO drilling, and you can KEEP your tow hooks.

I'm at a loss as to why Curt does not list this one as a choice for some non-ecoboost F150 models, it obviously works.

Are you going to drive down the road with that bike rack on the front?

That should be interesting. Why not mount it to the back or put the bikes in the bed?
