On the drive home today, the newest one is starting to get bigger. I know as soon add I replace it, I will get hit again.
I'm assuming there is nothing in the aftermarket world to prevent cracks and chips?

When we moved to Minneapolis a few years ago our agent said we should get the windshield covered. I had no idea, but I do now. Both vehicles w/new windshields twice in one year.
The weather changes each year just kill windshields w/rocks flying up everywhere. There's a reason why Up North they say the seasons are fall, winter, spring, and road work.

I got 3-4 chips the first time we took the truck through the Rockies. Now it seems that every car I follow, from Smart cars to Civics to SUVs, has fun throwing rocks at me.
Windshield is cracked in 2 places + at least 6 chips of various sizes. My car was much lower, and got the same treatment!!

It probably doesn't help my cause that I work on a crappy road with a lot of 18 wheelers. I haven't heard anyone else I work with say anything about the rocks hitting their windshield tho. Like I said, maybe I'm cursed
For those getting chips, make sure you get them repaired immediately. The repair is usually free, and the repair place will likely call your ins company and take care of everything. They will come to you, and repair on the spot, even in parking lots while you're at work. There's a reason insurance companies wave the deductible for these repairs... because they work!
