It cranks, but it won’t start.
I decided to charge the battery because a cold snap was coming. I took the battery out, charged it, and reinstalled it the next day and my 2011 F-150 5.0 wouldn’t start. The starter cranks, but the engine won’t fire. I thought it might be some kind of electrical glitch from disconnecting the battery, so I disconnected and reconnected the terminals a few times, but it didn’t help. It was -8°C outside and getting dark, so I decided to deal with it the next day. I planned to check fuse #27 (One more thing: about a year ago I replaced the fuse #27 socket/slot following Ford’s instructions, but it seems like something at the new location may be overheating and starting to melt again.) and the fuel pump relay, but the next day the truck started right up. For the first couple of minutes, it had misfires on cylinders 7 and 8, but that quickly went away. It was about +2°C outside. For the next two weeks, it ran great—started immediately every time, no issues, and there were no codes on the scanner. And now today, with the weather at -4°C, it won’t start again. It cranks, but it won’t start.
