Absolutely. Plus pulled fuse. Now heres the kicker. I pulled the valve covers off to re check and see if it may have jumped time and to my surprise this thing is coated in this slick black sludge. Wth. I pulled the vct’s and every single one had the screens so clogged up that i dont think they were working right. Now before anyone asks. Yes i changed the oil every 3k miles with castrol edge. I was just in there doing the timing chain back in june and it was clean as can be. Wth would cause this much build up. Now im starting to think the shop that had my truck for over a month to replace my turbos has anything to do with it. The turbos were replaced 2 weeks ago. Well thats when i got it back. I can post picks of it tomorrow. But

I'd take a sample of that oil and send it in for analysis. See if there's significant water or silicon or any other contaminants in it. I can't imagine what kind of wrong oil could have been put in it by the shop that would go bad that quickly.

Thats the same thing i said. I called castrol because I've been using nothing but castrol edge since I've owned it and they filed a claim so now I've got to take samples and give them pictures of this. So hopefully they do something.

Yowzers, that's some nasty crap, the oil is filthy too, what mileage is the oil currently on?

Thoughts on shop adding something?

Please keep us updated.

well the last oil change was done at the shop maybe 2 weeks with less than 700 miles on it the oil change. And i changed it like a week before the drivers turbski went all loosy goosy on the compressor side, luckily didnt grenade entirely. But i change the oil every 3 to 4 thousand miles because i pull my contractor trailer around alot. Granted not heavy but still a good load. Ive been very meticulous on my maintenance stuff just because i like my stuff to last. But this in all my years of building engines and tearing them down ive never seen oil do something like this. As for the shop doing something man i hope not because these guys are pretty reputable and have a good standing with the community around here, busy as can be thats for sure. Plus the owner is good friends with my mother in law.

To add insult to injury from the oil doing what it did, i got a low mile motor and popped the drivers valve cover and low and behold. The secondary chain broke lol. Update also. Still waiting for castrol to send me info on where to submit the oil samples and now a claim with cloyes on their timing chain. This all in all has turned into something out of this world.
