I pulled the front fender off Mine last weekend, I found the same thing. I think in a few years We will see a lot of these trucks with a lot of rust holes in the fender and lower body areas. Scott

Thanks, I just bought a used 2009 XLT and it has rust starting on the rear fenders. I'm going to tackle it next month with a grinder and rust prevention. I'll be checking my front end this weekend as I can't stand seeing other wise nice trucks with rusted out fenders. I'll post pictures if I find anything near as bad as what you posted.

I pulled the front fenders off my truck and found a similar mess, mostly mud though. I'll put this mod on my "to-do list". Great catch!

I took the sprayer at the car wash and shot it into the hole under the hood on the passenger side, as I had removed the drivers fender and cleaned it before this. The amount of leaves and that came out was almost scary . I think that I will have to clean this area at least once a year. Scott
