Got home last week to discover a big box from Tasca....

Inside I found this:

Thanks goodness I found the instruction sheet before I threw all of the packing peanuts out. Turns out there was a small bag of hardware that I needed to complete the install. Dropped the surround at the shop today for a little Oxford white, can't wait to get it installed....

Picked up the painted grill surround this morning and started the process.

All pretty straight forward, no issues or problems.

I really think this is the way the truck should come, the big chrome surround looks like it should be on "Granpa's truck". And even though I am one, I don't want the truck to look it...

I personally like the chrome surround but think your mod looks great. Very clean, nice job!

Thanks, glad you like the chrome, it just doesn't do it for me, looks too "Dodge-ish"....

Strangely the HD grill looks more GMC-ish now that I think about it, and the grill was the main reason I bought my previous truck over Chevy....

Yes,I agree it should be the standard grille. Good to know about the hardware. What about the Ford emblem? Do you re-use your old, does it come with a new one or do you have to buy a different one?

I love that style center section, but I like the chrome surround of the stock XLT style grill
