Default Controltrac 4A

How often do you run in 4A? What speeds and conditions?

When running in 4A, I assumed the power to slipping wheel is seamless - and I think it does work - but, I do notice the tranny working and can feel something going on...for sure not the exact same as running in 2wd feel like I thought it would.

Thoughts?

4A can be run in ANY condition, however it's engagement is not like a true AWD. in 4A your wheel ends are engaged however the transfer case is not. So when slip in the rear is detected the truck engages the transfer case to send power to the front. It's not the smoothest process in the world and if you're turning it'll likely bind for a small moment (no damage though) as it attempts to get everything moving in harmony.

It's not speed limited, however you'll see a drop in fuel mileage since the wheel ends are engaged and creating some additional drag on the system.

I only use mine in snowy/icy conditions for the most part.

Thanks for the reply - makes sense! Use mine here in the ATL mainly for rain...
