It's just for the dome lamps - lots of Asian cars have had this for years. It basically replaces the switch found on the dome lamp itself which triggers it the door, on all the time, or off all the time. Oddly enough, I have worked on a lot of Asian cars where this switch itself has fried and created the same issue.
